Hey!! We haven't been on in a little while. We are still planning our move to Lynchburg. We will be visiting again in April for a week to look at and hopefully sign for an apt.
The question is ... what is a resonable amount for rent? I see rent for 300-900. We are looking for middle of the road and or lower of the high end. We are trying to stay away from complexes that have undesirable elements and or loud parties or 500 unsupervised kids running wild.
Add 2 cats and our choices are limited. But the cats are old and who knows. We may suddenly be down to one.
We had looked at Maple Ridge up in 24503. We liked it. It had fireplaces in the living room and reasonable rent (520). But we weren't sure about the mechanical room in the bedroom. What kind of noise does that make?
Mostly I just want to be sure we don't get in over our heads b/c we will be moving down w/ no jobs. Hopefully this won't be a problem with the rental agency if the bank account looks ok.
Thanks for any suggestions.

My sister and I are moving to Lynchburg in February. We've spoken to a couple of women at Langley Apartments. They seem to have a number of apartment communities in different areas of Lynchburg. I don't know what they're like, though! We want something not as "cookie cutter" as they seem to be from what I've seen on the internet and how they described them, though. You could check them out, though. We're coming out after the New Year's to look at places.

Good luck to you!!

P.S. from what we've discovered so far it seems that most apartment "communities" and rental agents want people to have jobs already OR...enough money in the bank to pay rent for an entire year. Another reason my sister and I are looking into renting a small house or from an individual owner.

We're coming in April. I've been doing alot of searching online. Hopefully I can line up a job. maybe both of us, but that's really optimistic. in the meantime I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Langley and Forehand are the largest apt managers in town.
