Default Relocation - VA

We are planning to relocate to Gloucester area this fall. We'd like to have some more information about housing and school. What are the best neighborhoods or close city to buy a house? We have 2 kids (4 and 6) and school are our priority. Are the public shools good enough? Or is it better to spend money in private schools?

I was doing some research in other sites about the schools in Glocoucester area and most of them said that Poquoson city has the best schools.

Any additional information will be apreciated. Thanks!

what is your price range and what type of housing are you looking for.

I love Gloucester - it has grown due to the fact that it usually offers more house for the money. The schools are not great, and some say they are getting worse as growth continues. Past Gloucester in Mathews County you get even more house for the money.

Why made you pick Gloucester? Are you willing to go up higher to Tappahannock for more house?

Just know that schools are not quite as highly rated (although I think any child who wants an education gets one) and some extra-cirriculars may not be available. I have a friend in Tappahannock area and her daughter is going to a top Ivy league school.

York County and Poquoson are the better school districts in the area. The property values are higher also. Look at SchoolMatters.com also for comparisons of the different systems.
Give us an idea of what you are looking for in a neighborhood and price range and we can suggest a few.
