Downtown there a number of recently refurbished lofts. And the prices are in your range. It's an up and coming downtown!

Homicide Roads / Hampton Roads / Southeastern Virginia is still massively overheated. Huge housing value losses are yet to come in this part of the state.

you can definitely get a decent 2 bedroom in staunton for that. It's a great place to live!
