Default News, "Danville area jobless rate rises to 14 percent"

New unemployment numbers show how much our region is suffering from the economic downturn.
Danville and Pittsylvania County have the highest jobless rate of any metro-area in the state at 14%.
That's followed by the New River Valley at 7.7%, Lynchburg at 7%, and Roanoke at 6.5%.
When it comes to individual cities, Martinsville leads the pack with Virginia's highest unemployment number at 18%.
The U.S. jobless rate was 8.5% in January.

Actually, Williamsburg is at 19.5% according to the VEC.

Yep, you're correct based on the latest statistics on VEC (January 2009)

Not exactly sure where WDBJ7 got their data from...
