Default Relocating to VA??

Hi,

My husband may be offered employment in the DC area. We are looking for a nice, affordable (will be renting first, but housing under 300,000 for a decent 3 bedroom home), horse friendly, place to live that is 1 to 1 1/2 hours from DC. We have a 2 year old, so good schools, most likely public, are a priority. I will most likely be working from home, but my husband will have to commute to DC. Although we would prefer a small city, we would certainly consider a small town feel as well. Can anyone recommend a few places? Oh, and we're pie people.

Thanks for your help!
