We will be retired from primary jobs, but are the type of people who will always work. My husband wants outdoors work and a few acres of land. I want access to DC and lots of political and cultural stimulation. We are thinking of Charlottesville or Williamsburg. But, (maybe a Virginia forum isn't the place) what about the Triangle region of North Carolina? How does that compare to anything Virgina has to offer (including price)?
