Our family moved to Roanoke almost 2 years ago. We live in SW county (Cave Spring area), and I find it to be a great place for families. I love our neighborhood - there are always children around for my kids to play with. There are lots of kids activities are within a few minutes drive (ie, sports activities, ballet lessons, music lessons, and the Brambleton Center has fun arts classes and summer camps). As far as shopping, most major retailers are in the area.
The realtor who helped us with our relocation was from Remax, but I think any real estate office could help you.
