Default Charlottesville vs Roanoke vs Lynchburg

Thank you to all you current Virginia inhabitants for all the great information on your state. I was wondering if you could answer a few more questions, please. First, is there much difference in the annual snow fall in Charlottesville, Roanoke and Lynchburg? I have looked at the city information and visited the weather sites but I would like to hear it from someone who lives there. Also, Lynchburg and Roanoke seem to be about the same size on the map but is the surrounding population more in Roanoke? Can you tell me the names of the newspapers for those three cities? I am having a hard time finding the specific sites. We will be visiting these three cities in the Fall and my last question would be if you would/could recommend some sites/places we should visit to get to know the specific city better. We will only have a week and I would prefer to make the most of my time while there. Just some ideas you may have on neat or interesting places that you have experienced. Thank you so much!

first, no, not really it depends on how high up you go. second, it depends. we (roanoke and lynchburg) pretty much are all in the same metro area. the newspapers are the roanoke times, lynchburg news and advance, and the daily progress.
