Smile Danville and its Public Schools....

Having been able to drive thru Danville on the way to visit relatives - I would LOVE to learn more and see more. I am an elementary teacher, who is looking for a full-time job and would be thrilled to work in an area that has as much to offer as Danville!

Can anyone give me more information about the area? I've been on the town website, but are there others I should be looking in on?

Thank you!

I grew up there and loved it. I went to elementary, middle and some jr. high and I think I turned out pretty good education wise! But I'm not sure about how it is now. My best friend still lives there and tells me that since the Dan River Mills closed, it's been tough for the area. Not many jobs and people are moving out.

But....I still would try to look into it more. Danville is a beautiful small southern town that has friendly people and lots of history. The parks and open spaces are great. It's also pretty close to Greensboro if you need access to bigger city amenities and Smith Mountain lake is wonderful. My husband loves it there and he grew up here in Pittsburgh.

Sorry I could not be more helpful. Maybe someone who has lived there more recently can let you know more about the schools as they are now.
