Default good/bad places to buy furniture in Charlottesville

Looking for summaries of your experiences (good and bad) with furniture stores in Charlottesville. I'm looking to by a queen bed and possibly a small living room suite. Prefer more modern furniture, but quality and good experiences with stores is more important. Looking for mid-range to high end furniture. What are the good stores, and what stores should I avoid?
Thanks

i love the artful lodger! although I've never bought anything large enough to need delivery or anything like that there so I can't comment on that. Now that under the roof has moved to richmond there's not a lot of modern furniture places left.It tends to be more Grands, better living etc. Bassett is nice, has some modern stuff. Definitely good quality, and I've heard they're good to work with. Kane furniture has a good reputation as well. I've personally worked with grands and they're fine to work with but the quality is iffy on a lot of their stuff. out of the box in earlysville has some modern stuff. Most of it is more low-end stuff but they also have books and books that you can order from. Don't know a whole lot about working with them, but it is small family owned store so I'd guess they're pretty good to work with

I have not purchased from the Artful Lodger, but walk by this store on a regular basis. The furniture is beautiful.

Green Front Furniture in Farmville, VA may be an option. I've not been there, but know folks who buy furniture there. They advertise that they deliver all over the east cost. It may be worth your while to at least check out the website.

Visit The Savvy Sleeper in Ivy (4 miles West of Cville on Rt. 250) for lovely platform beds and locally manufactured organic mattresses and wool-filled toppers.
