Oh oh..Fincastle has one sex offender for every 33 people! My spouse just informed me, where Low Moor has no registered sex offenders! Good thing we checked this out now!

I am not looking for alot of amenties, we don't mind going to either Covington or Clifton forge for groceries, a walmart will do actually, we plan on taking weekend trips to roanoake once a month...safety is our number priority and we will trade having nothing around to have virtually no crime...not for everyone, I know! But for us, this is great!

Clifton Forge seems really nice, some of you had emailed me and I thank you for your help! There are beautiful home sites with tennis, playground etc and shopping...LOW Moor happens to be just down the road from there...We are very excited bout getting out the third world country we are now escaping from, anyhow...thanks to everyone who emailed me and helped us with our move, your kind words and support were very much appreciated!!!
Time to take a break and come back to the forums here after summer...Have a great summer ya'll!

I don't know if I am too late to help any, but I moved to the area this past Jan. We call it "Mayberry". People are really friendly. I would be glad to answer any question if I can.

No one mentioned the best part of Clifton Forge. The most fantastic state park in Virginia....Douthat....is just up the road from Clifton Forge.

Clifton Forge is coming back
There has been a lot of interest in the revitalization of Clifton Forge and more and more people who were born and raised in Clifton Forge are moving back there. I am looking for a business to start when I retire next year so I can get back to the Allegheny Mountains. A lot of the people who have lived there all of their lives can't see the potential, but I think that with the high housing prices in Lexington and Rockbridge, Clifton Forge could become an extension of that area. What a wonderful drive over the mountains to work. Most people in big cities should be so lucky. It takes them longer in traffic to go just a few miles. I would love to know where you ended up. The new YMCA in Lowmoor will be another plus for the area.
