Default Hampden-Sydney or Hampden Sydney

The name of Hampden-Sydney College has a hyphen in it.

The Census Bureau name of the community (census designated place) is Hampden Sydney, without a hyphen. The post office name also is apparently Hampden Sydney, without a hyphen.

The college name clearly has a hyphen, but should the name of the community have a hyphen or be hyphen-less? Which should I put on a map I'm preparing?
