You're coming to a wonderful city, so be excited.
The areas you'll want to avoid are the downtown area and anything within about 1.5 miles of it. I love downtown, but if you're executive level and you want to be away from traffic, and have a toddler, this is your best bet. You should move into the Boonesboro Rd. area, or just outside the city in Bedford County. Bedford County is nice and has great schools. It's where many executives live. Some of the places out there are "boonies" but not all of them. Where Bedford County meets 221/Lakeside Drive, there's a lot of new stuff going on and lots of young families.
