Moving to DANVILLE from Jersey
Hi my names mike, im 22 moving from north Jersey to Danville VA with my wife and son, I know Danville has a bit of a reputation for crime, I did some research on it and it isnt quite as bad as I thought but some areas are bad enough. I want to know if anyone knows the exact parts of Danville that are bad. It would help ALOT if anyone could let me know of some appartments that are nice, or the ones that arent nice. thanx

West side is decent. I know someone who has a house for sale on the North side; it is pretty quiet and the house is in great shape. PM me if you're interested. Out of curiosity- why Danville?

I was also wondering why Danville. I had a friend that lived down there for a while, and everytime I visited I felt like I was in another state. Be forwarned, coming from north Jersey you will experience a heck of a lot of culture shock! But if you have family there it won't be so bad. Hope your move goes well!

I currently work in Danville and Yes It is culture shock! lol however I experience it more everywhere else more than danville, my family is from a smaller town maybe 40 mins away, and all I see is open land and cornfields, I feel like im on another planet hahaa. At least in Danville it looks like kinda like home. In jersey I was ten minutes from Newark and about 25-30 min away from Manhattan so im used to seeing city type surroundings.

Can someone please post some pictures? We are looking at the Ridgeway/Danville/Martinsville area as well.

well I discovered on my own after searching through Danville for appartments the other day where the "good" and "bad" sides seem to be. I work on Piney Forest Road witch is pretty much highway US-29 Buisness, and I didnt know much of Danville except that side. Then I found out that Danville split into two halves, there is the north side, then there is a river and a bridge that splits into the other side. The north side that I work on is safer, than when you go south and cross the bridge and get into the main city (Mainstreet) area's. Wow big difference.
