Questions on Thomasville Furniture facility in Appomattox
Okay, questions on the Thomasville Furniture facility in Appomattox... Do they actually make the furniture on-site and do they have an "outlet" per se for pieces that might not be first quality?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thomasville goes under the name FOUNDERS in Appomattox. There is no outlet store there. Also most of what they have there is imported from the Far East. They have laid off a lot of production people and it appears to be a distribution center.

that makes perfect sense. We were looking for furniture and have never seen anything made in the USA.

VRE, if looking for good-quality Virginia made products, check out EA Clore out in Madison County (I think - if you search for it on the web they do have a web site). My family has used them for many quality items and I am hoping to use them for one of my next major purchases. You can also just do a search for "Clore" on Craig's List and will pull up some items - primarily on the Harrisonburg site.
I know you MIGHT have been being sarcastic, but just in case you weren't...

There is a Suters Furniture Store in Harrisonburg, Richmond and Williamsburg VA. Not cheap but very nice quality made in VA furniture. The kind you buy and keep for a lifetime like my parents and grandparents did.

Another small furniture maker in Central Virginia is Henderson's in Bedford County.
