Please, can anyone tell me if Harrisonburg is a good place to live? How is the hospital there?

i've spent a little time in and through Harrisonburg. i guess whether it would be a good place to live would depend on what you are looking for in a place to live? not sure where you are moving from, but Harrisonburg has a relatively inexpensive cost of living. lots of college kids...JMU and Blue Ridge CC (maybe more?) nearby.

Yeah JMU and EMU (eastern mennonite) really run the town. The poultry industry is big there. I don't know how "good" the hospital is, but it's the only real hospital for miles around.

Like the previous poster said, whether or not it's a good place to live depends on what services you need and what type of lifestyle you want to have. It's a nice town but it's not the type of place that "has something for everyone."

Harrisonburg is a very nice college town in the Shenandoah Valley. Its very nice and has a good live music scene. Its not quite as historical as Winchester, not quite as pristine as Lexington, and its a bit more commercial than Staunton.

It does get a bit more snow than other areas of Virginia in the winter, but nothing monumental. Has good schools.

The only major thing people there are concerned about is a lot of more illegals coming in the area to work in the local farming industry.

Harrisonburg is also known as the poultry capital of the world.

Lived up in the Massanutten area for three years, 11 miles from Harrisonburg. With JMU...it is a college town and the local social life does cater to that. Plenty of good shopping and the weather in deed is a little more chilly and snowey in the winter. We liked it but prices on homes, apartments have been climbing..good place for familes and lots to due if you know your way around that part of Virginia .

Default Lakeview Golf Course homes

Does anyone know the name of the development or the builder that's building the development/houses on the Mountain course at Lakeview Golf Course? I've been Googling to no avail.

Thanks!
