We're thinking of taking a last-minute trip somewhere here in Virginia. Any recommendations for a cute, quaint Christmas village with an old-fashioned feel? We prefer something within 2 hours of Richmond.

It's not "small" but Historic Williamsburg decorated for Christmas gives me that Holiday feeling.

Winchester -- Shopping on downtown walking mall; visit the Museum of the Shenandoah or Historic Long Branch; lunch at The Dancing Goat (in the newly renovated George Washington Hotel), Thai Winchester or Village Square. As you leave town, see all the beautiful homes on Washington and Stewart Streets. Definitely quaint, old time feel.

Hi,

Kilmarnock has a nice old feel and great around Christmas. Nice little town, great shops. Urbanna as well. Gloucester court house area is nice during Christmas. Lots of lights and close to hotels.

Let us know afterward where you went and what it was like. I'm always looking for short getaways! Merry Christmas!

Given the snow, I'm thinking a Big Fat Nowhere, but we'll decide for sure tomorrow morning.
