NoVa is always higher in gas than the rest of the area - most places around here are 2.96 to 2.99 that I saw as of yesterday.

Another nice place down your way Paso is Nelson County. There's some beautiful scenery around there and its still fairly undeveloped. Great spot for an orchard.

YIKES. We're at $2.67 right now and hoping it doesn't hit $3 this summer again.

I was in Roanoke today and gas prices were averaging about 10 to 15 cents cheaper than here. This is usually always the case though. It just seems strange that a city less than an hour away would consistently have cheaper gas. The richmond area tends to be a few cents cheaper than us aswell.

Yeah Nelson County is a very pretty part of the state. It feels very secluded sometimes but your not far from either Lynchburg or Charlottesville.

Watch out for the police though. I've picked up 2 tickets there over the past few years driving to and from NOVA.

Next time I go to DC I'll probably take the train.

Try the southside of Va .Axton, Chatham, Collinsville ,Critz ,Stuart ,I have live in Axton for 5 years now and hoses are selling for 20 thousand and up here and taxes are really low too.I own 3 acres with a mountain view and paid 5 thousand an acre and custom built a 25 hundred sq. ft. house for 87 thousand . I love being 20 minutes from Martinsville and Danville and only 15 minutes from NC .The weather is nice here ,well except for this past winter . Check out yahoo real estate online or go to spencer group realty in Martinsville va .The area is nice here and peacefull . good luck to you where ever you end up at

well we are better with gas at least we are at 2.53 when I got gas today .just saw your gas prices .Oh and I did have to get used to pumping my own gas back in NJ you do not pump your own gas and I was up there last week and gas in Edison NJ was only 2.39 a gallon I guess it is because there are so many storage tanks in NJ that hold gas and they do not have to truck it as far .

Bedford, Va is a good place to live. It has a historic downtown, and the National D-Day Memorial. Everybody is friendly and kind, and its perfect place to raise kids.
