Hey! I would love suggestions, I am meeting a friend from Roanoke in Staunton on Friday. He will be visiting me for until Sat. evening so his car will be there from Friday night until Sat. night. Any ideas where we should park his car close to I-81 in Staunton that it will be safe and wont get towed or anything? Thanks!

There is a 24 hour wal-mart right on US250 at the 81 interchange, exit 222. There is also a Lowes next door. Both have large parking lots that I would feel comfortable leaving my car there overnight. Wal-Mart actually lets RV's park overnight, so I don't think a car would cause any problems.

The next town up from Staunton is Verona, exit 227. It has an actual commuter car parking lot right at the interchange, I believe on the southbound side, on the north side of Laurel Hill Rd. It's kind of desolate, but I see cars there all the time.

As always, exercise common sense and lock doors and keep anything thieves might want out of sight. But I'm sure you already know that.

Hope this helps, have fun!

You're welcome! By the way, the commuter lot is just a gravel area I think. I don't even know if there are lamp posts. And like I said it is sorta away from other stores/gas stations etc. Personally, I'd feel more comfortable leaving it at Wal-Mart, but it's up to you. That commuter lot is only maybe 5 miles above the Wal-Mart exit, so if you investigated it and didn't like it, Staunton is not too far back.

Actually Verona itself has a shopping center with a Food Lion as the main store that your friend might be able to leave his car at. It's on the same side as the commuter lot. Either way good luck.

Hi! I am meeting my finace in Staunton and we are travelling to PA for the holiday weekend (Thurs night - Sunday). How did the parking work out for you? Would you recommend the Wal-Mart/Lowes or the commuter lot?

Thanks a lot!
