Hello all,
My name is Desirae. I am a single mom of two children. My daughter is 13yrs old and has ADHD. My son is 4 1/2 and is a High Functioning Autistic Child. After getting divorced several years ago I moved in with my parents and have been there ever since. We currently live in Brick, NJ. Both my parents and I are living on a fixed income and want to get out of this expense, and conjested state. We do not work so that is not a concern. Our main concern is the kids and education. My other concern is services for my son. He currently goes to Children's Specialized Hospital (a facility in NJ) for occupational therapy and speech therapy. They would attend a public school. This is my parents last moved and want everything they couldn't have while raising their kids. 5+ acres, master bedroom on 1st floor, big kitchen, deck views, pond or lake a plus. With mother in-law suit or garage apartment or a mobile home on the property or live in a town that permits putting a double wide/prefab on the property. Because of the kids we want to be close enough to nieghbors but not close enough where we can look in the windows. Pie or cake huh??? Well if you ask me I'll say cake but I believe my parents prefer pie :-) Anyway, does anyone have any recommendation as to which is better to move to Bedford or Franklin County that has a great education system in place with a Child Study Team that does what is best for the children. Are there any parents on the forum with and Autistic Child that have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated :-) Desirae Brick, NJ -Where you are working -How much you are willing to spend on housing -How long of a commute you're willing to tolerate -If you have kids: Private school or public school? -What type of neighborhood environment you are looking for: small town feeling? small city excitement? suburbia delight? -Community amenities important to you -Pie or cake? |
