Lost another rear wheel cylinder on the 1980 Pickup (about the 3rd one in 30 yrs). Good thing they are only $6, but... 120" drizzle / yr and VW (weathertight) designs... Good idea to flush fluid every 5 yrs. (I don't do that very often)

If you're having brake problems with a 34 year old vehicle, one of the first things to do is to replace the rubber lines. They get swollen and clogged. It's also the cheapest first step.
