Hi Everyone! My husband and I are in our late 20's. I am graduating with my RN degree this December. My husband is an Amtrak Engineer who needs to live closer to the DC station.

We plan on moving after I get one year experience in the hospital I am currently in, and save enough for a down payment.
We live in PA, in York. We expect we can afford between 300-325k for a home.

Here our criteria
1. 45 minutes or less drive to DC
2. SAFE neighborhood
3. good schools (huge priority)-- we have a toddler
4. Townhome in our price range (we've already ruled out a SFH). Possibly with a garage.
5. (not a priority) a community feel with amneties

So far we have looked at Arnold (love it), and Odenton. In Odenton, we found affordable houses in an area called Seven Oaks, however we heard the schools are terrible. I also loved an area called Piney Orchards.

Where else can we look fitting our criteria.

The sticker shock is disgusting me. In York PA, we live in a 5 bedroom townhome with a monthly mortgage of $820!
