dear forum,
my family and i will be moving to chevy chase from germany beginning of next year. my two older children will go to school at east-west-boulevard in bethesda. now i have discovered the capital crescent trail on the map which looks like a convenient connection between our place and the school. i do not know the area at all - is it safe to let them use this path in the morning before school and after?
thank you in advance,
p.

So the CC trail goes under East-West Highway just east of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (assuming this is the school from what you said above) and yes it if fine as they will be amongst many of their fellow students and other folks jogging and biking. I use this trail all the time between the old railroad trestle and the end of the tunnel right before hitting Bethesda Ave. I see alot of high school kids all the time.

There is point at Connecticut Avenue where they will have to cross the street and it is a very busy thoroughfare, however there is a crosswalk and once someone presses the button the light changes quickly to let everyone cross. They won't have any issues.
