Looks really nice. Any idea on when they plan to start the 'real' construction?

It looks depressing. The grid work looks like jail cells and not like residences. Where are the yards? The circles? The Parks? The commercial section looks very cheap. Missed opportunity. With every new rendering released... the cheapness of this community is revealed. Huge flat buildings with windows and something on top that mimics "design". Sad day in gaithersburg. Pictures from quality communities are thrown in to encourage acceptance. Who is behind this disaster?

And you'll probably pay an arm and a leg for the ability to have a hellish commute into DC.

Shady Grove Metro is right down the road. There are bus lines nearby heading there and to Rockville Metro. The CCT light rail will have a stop there. 270 and the new ICC are also nearby, as are easy access to back roads. Seems reasonable to me.

but if you work in Shady Grove, Gaithersburg, Rockville, White Flint, or Germantown, like tens of thousands of people do, you would have a great commute.

Thanks for posting. I thought the townhouses looked cool, but that the SFHs looked a bit kitschy, particularly with such prominent garages. I'm also not sure why people would want to buy SFHs surrounded by so many townhouses, but I guess there might be some market among those who want more space, but not a big yard.

Yeah, on page 89, there is a view of proposed blocks with clusters of townhouses facing single family homes, and everybody's garages on the alley between them. It's a very different and more egalitarian concept, because most developments segregate the houses based on price. I like it and I hope is succeeds, and that it removes the idea that neighborhoods have to sprawl.
