So, I don't see how being an illegal immigrant they should get FREE education, when most all Americans are deeply in debt from paying for their education through the loan system.

That being said, I do believe that illegals kids who are attending public high schools in the U.S., and planning to go to a college in the same state that their high school is in, should have the right to pay for that college with typical in-state tuition just like anyone legal is doing.

What you are advocating is that illegals get it free, while the rest of us americans go deeply in debt, and that I'd disagree with.

not FREE. But they deserve student aid just like the rest of us get. Excuse the "free"

If people are worried that an undocumented immigrant is taking the "spot" of a documented immigrant or an American citizen, realize that they worked hard for that spot.

Now to your point about reduced cost, here's a few things. I hear a lot of people want to do the 'right' thing, but most of these people never consider what the fallout is for doing the right thing. Here's the problem with your idea.

1) By giving ILLEGAL immigrants the opportunity to go to school at a reduced rate, you put the legal immigrants in a bad situation. Shouldn't they be entitled to the same right because after all they are not just immigrants, but they are LEGAL immigrants. They followed the laws the right way, got their visas or what not in place, so why shouldn't they have the same benefit? Well if they do, then who's going to pay for them?

2) The assumption that the illegal immigrants have to pay taxes is hogwash. There is no way of proving that they are paying the correct amount. Think about it like this, if one of us didn't pay the correct amount on our taxes, the IRS is coming after us. I've heard of the IRS sending notices to people who owe 14 cents. Then you think about the fact of what you said yourself, they are UNDOCUMENTED illegal immigrants, meaning there is no paper trail of them. So how do you know who they actually are, how many children they have, what kind of business they work at, or if they even owe taxes from previous years? There's nothing to document these things because they are UNDOCUMENTED illegal immigrants. So what is the definition of paying taxes? How can we know they are paying the right amount? And if they don't pay the right amount, guess who's paying for it? People like ME and the other legal US citizens that live in this crappy state!

3) They are breaking the law! Would you give a tax break to a bank robber? What makes this any different? We have laws in place for a reason, if they are breaking the law, they should be subject to the same treatment that anyone else would for breaking the law. Giving them benefits sends the message that it's okay to break the laws.

4) Even if you allow them to be educated, there is no system in place for them to legally work in this country. You could be simply paying for a majority of their education and then shipping them to another country. Is that productive for this nation? When you open this door of illegal immigration there are a lot of issues to consider. This law is simply short-sighted and is being supported by people who have little regards to the integrity and healthy of this country, this states, and both of their economies.

For those opposed please sign the petition to get this on the ballot. Arguing on a message board is pointless.

They do not deserve a free or reduced education. They deserve a deportation order.

If those illegals were willing to become legal and stick with it, then yes. If not, then no way.
