He was talking about Baltimore and not the Entire state of Maryland.....

Back then Baltimore was depressing so I can understand where he was coming from.......

What???

I want Maryland to grow. I wouldn't mind if Maryland added 1 million people over the next 10 years as long as it was in high rise multi-family housing and row houses around Metro stations which is sustainable. That is the point! What part don't you get?

There's a big difference between what Virginia is doing and what Maryland is trying to accomplish. No one is anti-growth, the purpose is doing it to avoid sprawl and traffic gridlock.

I think Maryland does have a lot of modern developments around Columbia, Hunt Valley, Towson, and White Marsh. I wish there was more development and growth in Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore but that goes against the wishes of O'Malley and his liberal elites who in the words of Eastern Shore senators are waging a war on rural Maryland.

Northern Virginia is more developed because Virginia, being a conservative Republican state is more business friendly and has lower taxes. Even comparing areas beyond DC, Norfolk has taken a lot of business from the Port of Baltimore because shipping companies don't have to deal with greedy and corrupt Democrat unions further South. Virginia is also less friendly to illegal immigrants. Prince WIlliam County is taking steps to combat illegal immigration while Montgomery County and PGC welcome them with open arms. Here in Baltimore we try our best to show the illegals that they are not welcome here but there is only so much we can do. Personally I never act in a friendly manner to an illegal person but they are so arrogant I don't think they care what Americans feel about them.

I thought you would especially enjoy this! Your precious Virginia Malls from 1960 are doing the same thing as the Maryland malls from 1960! Maybe it's just you? Go die your hair back to it's original color. Go to the mall and buy whatever the young adults are wearing. Put some pep in your step and join us in 2011. You are only as old as your feel. Always remember that!

Springfield Mall value plummets by $140M - Washington Business Journal

"In November 2010, Vornado purchased 12 acres of J.C. Penney's land, including a parking garage, for $8.7 million. In December 2010, Vornado acquired the mortgage loan secured by the mall for $115 million, after having previously defaulted on a pair of $80 million mall-related loans — earning a $45 million profit. At the same time, it bought out a silent partner.
Did all that action mean Vornado was moving forward on the long stalled renovation plans? Or the town center strategy it once proposed? Springfield residents certainly hoped so, but little has happened since beyond the continued exodus of stores and shoppers.
Of course Vornado has to cut the number of stores at Springfield to clear the way for its renovation. But is the trust's strategy to drive every customer away, too? If it is, kudos.
As I left Wednesday, I overheard a woman say to her friend, 'Note to self, never visit this mall again."

So basically you don't want Maryland to grow because Development along the Metro has a Good Track Record of producing some of the Most Expensive Housing and Property Taxes in the Nation...

So your little sarcasm is not going to change the Fact that the so-called transit supporting, anti-Growth, and anti-Business commies ave the agenda to make Virginia better than Maryland n terms of Business Growth and Economic Wealth....

The agenda is to promote more Business Growth for Northern Virginia while Maryland suffers.....
