Since I've always focused on apartment-hunting in NOVA, I don't know much about MD.

Now I have a job prospect in Rockville, MD, I have been advised to find an apartment in Bethesda, MD instead of NOVA in order to shorten my commute.

But Bethesda is expensive. Could anyone give me suggestions on where to look for an apartment that's not too expensive?

What's your budget? Do you have children? How many bedrooms will you need? You're looking at $$$ in Bethesda due to it's proximity to DC and public transit. How far is too far of a commute?

My budget is about $1600/month for a 1BR apartment. No kids. Ideally 20-30 minutes commute each way.

Are there nice apartments in Kentlands in Gaithersburg? Is it a friendly community?

Of course anywhere in downtown Bethesda will be the top choice for a location that fully meets your requirements
