Default Any good truck rental places near Silver Spring or Columbia?

We are about to move from Silver Spring(20904) to Columbia(zip 21044). Since we only live in a 1b1b apt currently, it might not worth it for hiring a moving company (Quoted for $280+tips).

I went up online and did a bit search and find out that if go one-way, Uhaul is cheapest for 85 (14ft truck for 30miles within 24hr, $0.4 per additional mile), while Budget rental have cheapest local rate (10ft truck for around $40+$0.49 per mile).

Problem is the budget rental locations close to me (one in Kempa Hills one in Sligo Dr of Silver Spring) have horrifying reviews on google, main complaint is no truck upon customer showing up even if reservation was made well in advance. Closest Uhaul place is not praised too (Takoma Park @ New hampshire ave). Just want to check with you guys, if you have any good experience with any Uhaul or Budget locations around White Oak/Silver Spring?

I only had positive experiences doing one-way rental when I first moved to MD, so basically the only thing MD Uhaul/Penske locations had to do with me is to receive my returned truck/trailer (at off-hours too, so I didn't even talk to anybody).

Thanks in advance.

The place in Kemp Mill is very small, and part of a sandwich shop. Maybe visit them personally to see if you can trust them, and have a back-up plan made. I did a one-way rental with a place in College Park. (U-Haul at University Blvd - lots of trucks) It went OK, except they close up at 4:30PM.

Thanks a lot for the input. I might visit the kemp hill place, but just as you and everyone else described, it seems that the place is living on the liquor sales instead of truck renting. Can you tell me the exact place you went for U-haul?

And anyone with experience with positive truck renting places around Columbia too?

We rented at this U-Haul: 8720 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD, phone (410) 480-9962. We just returned it in College Park. The one in CP may have moved, as I can't find the exact address.
