i picked up a PG county history book from the library recently and would have to agree. it was strange to see pictures of rt. 1 near U. of MD back when it was just a dirt road.

does anyone know what the oldest building still standing in PG county is? i know the st. thomas church in upper marlboro dates back to 1742, is there anything older?

The old spring house at Fort Lincoln cemetery dates back to about 1683.

St. John's Episcopal Church dates back to 1692, but the current building only dates to 1767.

St. John's is operating as a regular church, so I'm sure you can visit. They have a website if you google the name. I'm not sure about the spring house.
