Since we're new in DC, we don't know where to go for Christmas Eve Service.

We want to find a Christian church that meets the following criteria:

1) Anywhere between Rockville, MD, and DC, Or in the NW section of DC (hopefully near red-line Metro);
2) is inspiring and draws people closer to Christ;
3) has classical building design;
4) offers traditional-style service with a good choir;
5) is popular;
6) evening service at around 7pm or 8pm.

Would appreciate any input!

You don't mention denomination. What some feel is inspiring you may not. Anyway, it looks like passes for the National Cathedral service have already been distributed but some standby tickets will be distributed that evening. It's not on the side of the Red Line you prefer, but the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Catholic), has a "solemn mass" at 10:30 p.m. Historic St. John's Church (Episcopal) across the street from the White House has three services on Christmas Eve (you could take the Red Line to Farragut North though I think McPherson Sq. on the Orange/Blue lines may be closer).

Check the Washington Post, print or www.washpost.com, for listings.

Maybe All Saints Church (Episcopal) at 3 Chevy Chase Circle. 10:30 PM service, beautiful Gothic building, beautiful stained glass. Looks like an alternative if you can't get in to the National Cathedral.
