Default How is Temple Hills crime wise?

Good? Bad? Okay?

I realize there is crime everywhere, but I'm looking into a job where I'd be driving and walking all over Temple Hills, and I wanted to know if it was a dangerous area.

Temple Hills is considered a close in DC suburb. It is primarily urban.

Southern MD is typically thought to be the Counties of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's. I will sometimes include Prince George's County below Upper Marlboro and Anne Arundel County south of Central Ave. because those areas still retain much of their rural/farming roots.

Temple Hills is not Southern MD anymore than Alexandria, Arlington or Fairfax County would be Southside VA.

Back to your original question. Did those links begin to answer your questions?

Interesting statistics. The CLRSearch numbers actually look pretty good for everything except murder and car theft. It makes me wonder why the murder rate is so out of synch with other violent crimes.

Yeah, I know. Historically all of PG was considered so. Today's realities have contracted to the 3 Counties I mentioned.

Depends on the parts you are referring to. There is a few distinctive parts. There is the Marlow Heights part, Hillcrest Heights and then the Brinkley Road/Temple Hills Road part. The last part is actually quite nice, quiet, has nice older homes and generally more desirable. The other two parts are awful and very dangerous. I would not recommend walking around those parts any part of the day.
