This is the order of how some folks rate MC HS schools. Leading the pack, any of the W's (Winston Churchill, Walter Johnson, Wootten), some more diverse than others, some are pressure cookers. Then BCC, QO, but then u have Poolesville (Magnet), and RM, Blair with IB & AP programs, and ....go to greatschools.org... , Magruder, Sherwood, Blake, etc...

Northwest HS is a Good school in Montgomery County....Northwest High School is pretty much still an up and coming area just like Clarksburg HS. So for people to say that its a terrible school...are complete fools. Yes if you compare it to QO...QO is a better school. The same goes for if you compare Northwest HS to Seneca Valley HS, Walkins Mill, Damascus, Magruder HS, and Wheaton High School.....of course Northwest HS is better than these schools.

Ever since Watkins mill got a new principal, the school has in effect basically did a complete turn around plus an acrobatic backflip. I went was supposed to go to Watkins mill, but then clarksburg was built. I do not particulary care for any of the staff, the principal especially of clarksburg. Many of the staff (not most of the teachers, they are for the most part fine) are downright mean, rude, and nasty. not to say there aren't extremely nice and friendly staff there, because there are. However, I was amazed at how friendly the watkins mill staff are! I know nothing about the teachers, so can't say much there. Any school in Moco is gonna be better than most schools in the country, however there are certain things that make other people outside of moco laugh. This includes not giving f's, instead giving e's. They mean the same thing, you failed, but for reason the top school officials thought and for some reason still think, that giving f's saying you failed is too harsh and mean. Like getting an e which means the same thing somehow provides comfort? The real world is going to be harsh! There's also a 50% rule for at least attempting an assignment, and there are many other weird things mcps does.
