This should be interesting. Hopefully the nimbys, yahoos, and opponents won't act a fool?

You know that crazy lady we were talking about a few months ago, Bonnie Beck, I think? Guaranteed she will set up shop in front of this place. She is the true definition of a nimby. She is opposed to all development.

So as MD Live received its last slots, Cordish was asked about the pending competition. His statement was a little boastful (to be expected) but he essentially inferred that no one can top what he has and that the "public companies" would need to bring it to be competitive. He is right that they are going to have to bring their A game ( which is true) however, he does realize that MD Live would be 2 years old when Ceasars come and almost 5 years old if MGM comes online. That said he is going to have to continue to throw money up to be relevant to consumers. The initial 500 M that he invested is not going to mean jack if consumers no longer feel the facility is interesting or relevant. That goes for all of them but its just funny that he made a statement that eludes to being finished. No you are not dude!

Has this dude become senile already? MGM's numbers for NH are already at $800 million. Expect that to grow. In addition, MGM will have a hotel and access to DC via the Potomac with spectacular views of Alexandria and DC. MD Live is in the suburbs next to an outlet mall. You be the judge.

Penn National antes up another $4 million for gambling campaign

Quote:
The latest: Another $4 million from Penn National Gaming to the committee trying to defeat the expanded gambling plan that will appear on the November ballot.

Penn had previously given about $5.5 million to the campaign, which is playing out in ubiquitous television ads in both the Washington and Baltimore markets.

The thought crossed my mind but I tried not to judge (LOL). My concern with his statement is that they are not thinking about any major renovations or changes to keep the customer base interested. If they don't think in those terms its going to be hard for them to sustain over a time and a sale of the property will definitely be in there future.

Remember that the NH location will be next to an outlet mall to but you are right its value add will be closer proximity to DC and the fact that it is on the potomac. That will give visitors access by ferry to Old Towne and Nationals/Ballpark/the SW Wharf/Georgetown.
