I already know about the department stores. Is there a nice thrift store or something where you can make out better? In my hometown, we have a store called Old Time Pottery. Is there anything of the sort here?

There are big thrift stores called Unique Thrift and Value Village that are the size of department stores that have huge homeware sections and you can get very inexpensive dishes. There's a combined Unique Thrift/Value Village store thats as big as a Walmart in White Oak and they have 2 good sections for that there.

There's another branch at the 12200 block of Viers Mill Road, north of Randolph.

I also like the Value City store in Catonsville. It had sleek modern ones at reasonable prices. But I'm not sure any of the stores still exist.

I bought my dishes at Ikea. In fact I buy most of my furnishings at Ikea. They are extremely reasonable yet good quality. I don't know how much you want to spend but they are a lot less expensive than department stores.
