Prince George’s school board censures member - The Washington Post

Hmmm....very interesting.

Board of Education Meeting February 21, 2012 - YouTube

This is a long video so just skip ahead.
She asks the questions starting at 3:14:07.
At 3:24:21 is when Higgins addresses Fellows

What do you all think? Do you think she's going too far or she is justified by her questioning?

Being a freshman on the board, I think she is justified. I read the Post article and a few of the reader comments. I think the other board members, though frustrated, need to take Fellows under their wing and not see her as a pot-stirrer but as someone who has a fresh set of eyes and may not be used to the "status quo." In my honest opinion, the whole board should be revamped and term limits adjusted. When people get comfortable, they get lazy. Just look at congress. The status quo has failed in this county. It's time for some fresh thinking and answers to some very hard questions. If this was private industry, the board would have been absolved already for decades of failure. I know there is red tape, politics, etc., but educating children shouldn't be such a tough nut to crack. There's not enough thinking outside the box. And yes, there are policies and laws that may limit what a school board can do. But something has to change and I don't think the current school board has the resources or the talent to get it done.
