With many people from Frederick that work in Germantown and the surrounding areas such as Darnestown, Poolesville, Clarksburg, Gaithersburg, and Damascus.....Germantown is the next up to become the next corporate location......Department of Energy, Holy cross, URS, Hughes Network, Qiagen, Rexhan Pharmaceutical, and many others.......This is the next stage of Germantown coming 2015

Crystal Rock development would be situated north of Father Hurley Boulevard/Ridge Road, between Crystal Rock Drive and Interstate 270 in Germantown, according to a department memo.
The project calls for:
  • 1,097,800 square feet of office space
  • 91,400 square feet of retail space;
  • a 243,240-square-foot hotel with 350 rooms,
  • 1,618 total residential units—with 1,178 of those residences designated for senior housing

It's to be expected. DC influence via I-270 is spreading, and areas like Gaithersburg and Germantown, while still considered outer suburbs, are culturally and economically becoming more affiliated with the inner 'burbs. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Frederick County become completely suburbanized in 30 years - FredCo's suburbanization has already begun.
