Aeropostale could work, the others wouldn't work.

It could also be the cut of the fabric. It has been known that some cultures have a bit more curve to them as others. :-) So, if 80% of the stuff you sell is cut for a certain type of body size and shape, you won't do well in a culture that is shaped totally different. In other words, GAP clothes are for mostly skinny people with no hips or backsides.

Because mall shopping is antiquated.

I can fight traffic for 30 min, fight for parking, then be surrounded by obnoxious teenagers playing grabass and screaming, or make a few clicks of the mouse and have something delivered to my door.

And all of this (often) for less money. Seems like a no-brainer.

I frequent stores such as Armani Exchange, Guess?, American Eagle, etc. Those are stores that would definitely do well at PG Plaza. You could add Express and Express for Men, as well.

I would be nice to see a Nordstrom's here, too. However, none of those big name department stores will come, so long as the one's currently there are as crappy as they are. Macy's has three different "tier" Macy's. The Macy's at PG Plaza is Tier 1... the lowest level. The Macy's at Westfield Wheaton is Tier 2, for example. The Macy's at Pentagon City is Tier 3. If anyone has been to any Macy's in PG County and then the Macy's at Pentagon City, you'd understand the EXTREME difference between the two.
That tier exist throughout retail check out Home Depot in Oxon Hill then go to the one off Van Dorn in Alexandria. Big difference!!!

I can't recall a time I've ever been to the Macy's at the Fashion Center, however, I usually visit the Nordstrom's around there and I love it! The Macy's I often frequent out here in Southern Maryland is the one at St. Charles Mall in Waldorf and sometimes the one in Marlow Heights. It's always riveting whenever I visit the Fashion Center at Pentagon City and Tyson's Corner Galleria.

:sigh: Come on PG!!! We got to step our game up man!! Let's get it in!

Been to the Macy's in Bowie, then to the one in Annapolis. Annapolis has way more selctions than the one in Bowie... SMH come on PG let's get it together.

A|X, Guess, ANF, Under Armor, Zara, Levis Store,..I will even throw in Pottery Barn, and American Apparel can come to PG...

And as much as I really LOATHE this store, H&M. If Wheaton can get one, PG Plaza, Bowie, or LTC should get one

LOL Same here. I tend to wear sizes XL and sometimes L and I wear 38 waist pants. I'm at least 224 pounds (Even though I might not look like it sometimes) and am 5'7''.

I have a very similar issue as both of you, but I'm also tall too, so places like Gap don't work for me, but surprisingly Old Navy is an issue too. Anything that I have gotten over recent years from Old Navy, I had to order online. Going to the store is likely not to yield me much success and this is how it was even before I put on muscle. Unless these stores take the effort to modify their clothing to match different body types, it's hard for them to be successful in PG. It also depends on the style too. The younger generation might like the skinny jeans look, but I grew up in a time and still appreciate having loose pants. I just can't get with clothes that are that tight.
