Road not finished and they are still hanging signs. Also saw some of the interior of the stores from the road that are still being painted.

I don't think all stores have to be open for the launch. Black Friday is when 100% of the stores should be open. But I think even if 75% of the stores are ready by launch, that should satisfy shoppers.

We have more than 80 stores that will open on Friday and looking foward to DVF coming early 2014! 3. Parking at the Tanger Outlets is FREE.
Not sure if that means all, but that's at least the official word.

Yeah I went over there tonight again. The majority of the things remaining are minor in the big picture of things. Now they will be pulling all nighters tonight and tomorrow but it will be done by 9 am Friday.

All but 3 will be open DVF is scheduled for Feb 2014 and the other two have not been identified yet. According to the paper they are 99% leased. Also on Tanger's website the status of all but DVF rave changed from coming soon to what I assumed to be opening on the 22nd.

Default Horseshoe Casino Impact Study

I found a impact study for the opening of the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore. Its an interesting read although I think some of the assumptions are flawed given the expansion of gaming happening inside the state as well as in surrounding states. I also don't understand why the needed two studies. Anyway, I am sure a similar study will be or has been performed PG County Casino. The one interesting point is that MD Live will have a dip in income (which was obvious). Considering that, I wonder how that will play with them being compensated for the loss of business due to the opening of MGM National Harbor which was one of the requirements of the bill. If they will already be experiencing a decline in revenue will MGM have to compensate them for any loss when it opens? If so how much and how will they calculate the percentage given the other players in the market?

Of the two studies Custom Consulting is the best one in terms of actual analysis.

It can't be that simple. If I hear you correctly, a "struggling" casino could just be sitting on its hands using competition as an excuse. It sounds sort of like corporate welfare or socialism. As a state, I wouldn't care who won or lost, just that we capture all of Maryland gamblers and a few from out of state. If there were just two casinos, but they captured 85% of Maryland gamblers and 50,000 out-of-state as opposed to 6 casinos that captured 87%, but also attracted 30,000 out-of-state gamblers per month. I'm cool with that.

I mean will casinos start having to advertise other casinos to spread the wealth? I'm not sure of the details.

Well when they were crafting the bill that was one of the consession that they had to add to get it past AAC. When I asked my delegate about it, he stated that it would be assessed after the first full year of operation and that they would perform an impact analysis to determine how much Maryland Live would be affected by the PGC casino. The challenge I have is that the language that I read was ambiguous and left a lot of room for interpretation. I agree that they state shouldn't care and it should truly be survival of the fitest but that clause could potentially provide support for the other casinos claming to be impacted by the addition of PGC.

Do we really want to save Perryville? I mean if you have an inferior product, I wonder if there is a clause that unless an inferior casino improves, it will loose its license. And what metrics or standards do the casinos agree to? If geography is the issue like Perryville, is it viable anymore? And would it be better for everyone if they just close?

Metro is adding a new bus to National Harbor to account for those that go to work before metro opens and get off after it closes. Personally I feel Metro needs to become a 24/7 service D.C. is becoming more of a round the clock city like NYC. 20 years ago there was really nothing to do after 10pm. So, shutting down metro made sense. But now there are new stadiums and entertainment districts, airports in the addition of the Silver Line to Dulles.

Quote:
The changes include adding a new bus route at National Harbor to provide another transit option for the late-night and weekend workers in the southern Prince George’s County resort area.
The NH3, which will launch in December, comes after growing demand from workers in an area that has become an employment hub and a regional destination with entertainment, retail shops, restaurants and hotels. It is viewed as a step toward improving transit options in and around National Harbor, where transportation has been limited and the closest Metrorail station is about four miles away. The new bus line will provide a bus connection for people whose work shifts begin before Metrorail opens and end after 11 p.m.
