I find this conversation amusing because I just moved to Rochester, NY....Rochester is the home base for Wegman's so I love that. What is funny is that I discovered Wegman when they opened their store in Woodmore. I am a teacher and my job was least than five minutes from Wegman so I was there a lot. Now, there is a Wegman on every corner in Rochester...sorta like a WalMart on every corner. I love that I am in the hometown of Wegman's; my husband, no so much.

Good luck trying to buy all your groceries at Trader Joe's. (Which, by the way, has horrible produce).

Trader Joe's is a glorified convenience store. I used to want them to come to my neighborhood, but I'd rather have A full service grocer. I'm not even sure they'd be a goof fit near UMD. A lot of students wouldn't eat half that stuff.

Yeah, Trader Joe's is an absolutely joke, and it's comical that it was even brought into this discussion. I could understand if he had said Harris-Teeter... but Trader Joes lol??? Let's get real here.

Trader Joes reminds me of an overpriced Aldi. Products with its own name brand, not much to choose from, and its just a place I wouldnt care to go in at all. Its for those people that shop about "status" Just shouting "LOOK AT ME, I SHOP AT TRADER JOES"

Eh, Trader Joe's blows. Went to the one on route 29 in silver spring a while back and it was like 4-5 aisles of goods. I was like what the hell is this. Cool I guess if you live close and just want to grab some milk and eggs but nowhere I would consider my main grocery shopping market. Like someone said its basically a glorified Aldi's and both are pretty lame imo.

Lived in Rochester for business school. That's where I was first exposed to Wegman's it's like a cult up there. Hard to find anyone who will say anything bad about them up there.

I mean, what's bad to say? They're reasonably priced, have a huge selection with quality meats, seafood and produce and treat their employees better than almost any other grocery store.
