In addition to snobby, for the most part this entire area is cold and unfriendly.

In the same way that it's insane to call Wheaton or downtown silver spring "unsafe", I think people go over the top with Bethesda being snobby. A lot of time this is in people's heads. People should have enough perspective to not jump at their shadow when walking on Georgia Avenue, but should also have enough self-esteem to not interpret everything in Bethesda as a sign of snobbery (except Georgetown Cupcakes and that ridiculous line!).

And Rockville and Wheaton? LOL.

Who is Movoto anyway?

Now Potomac and Georgetown, that I'll give you

PS. Anyone catch the methdology? So snobby = "household income, home prices, percentage of population with college degrees, private schools, and performing arts & art galleries".
Movoto is a national Real Estate company, according to the link.

Gaithersburg???? Does anyone still speak English in that town? Art galleries? Private schools? Home prices? Household income?

LOL

City leadership should promote this on their website! A "snobby" designation would help the towns image!

There's not a person on this planet that I know of who would proclaim G-burg a snobby town. More like Little Mexico minus the sombreros!

I was wondering the same thing. Bethesda, I can see, but Gaithersburg I don't know. Maybe this list should've included DC for their "Van Ness" and "Georgetown" wards. They fit their requirements for "Snobby"!

Gaithersburg. The City Council members are pains in the ass.

The parts of the city of Gaitherburg that is in the 20878 ZIP code area does have a few snobby people. You can tell when they refuse to admit that they live in Gaithersburg. They prefer to call it North Potomac (which is one of the names used for the area next to Gaitherburg.)

Too funny. The snobby Rockville people tend to say they live in "North Bethesda".

Snobs in Wheaton call it "North Kensington".

I'm going to change my address to North Potomac Adjacent Unincorporated.

Hmmm, so maybe the Montgomery County rankings weren't that far off?

Mostly liberals areas. Not surprised. Some don't seem to be long there either.
