They need to open up at Ritchie Station Marketplace, we need a nice grocery store there. I would actually like to see another Wegman's on the southern end of the county, far enough away from the current one at the Woodmore Town Center. That Wegman's is the highest grossing location in the nation, there is a lot of demand in the area for it. Years of crummy locations and service from Shoppers, Giant and especially Safeway are biting them.

It could be in both given the number they and are planning within the city.

I'm not too concerned. You must remember, Las Vegas and even Atlantic City sees all types of visitors from hoodlums, to the sophisticated cheaters. I would suspect that there may be locals who think they can act a fool and get away with it but will be easily embarrassed.

Wow about the Wegman's. I believe it but it's just that they must do a good job of line control because I rarely wait too long at the checkout aisle.

I agree. I also read that they will be building another police station (satellite I guess) on the Harborview Hotel property. My guess will be to have another one closer to the property. They anticipate having 75 officers assigned to MGM National Harbor

I think a good developer with a good insight should seriously consider this area and develop it. Livingston Square seems very attractive.

One of the competitors for the casino licence back in 2013 bought multiple houses adjustment to Livingston Square.

I am definitely going to have to attend those meetings. I have been emailing Peterson for years about a upscale movie theater similar to iPic so I am glad to hear that may be part of the plan. I think they would do well with the upscale concept because it currently doesn't exist in this part of MD, VA, or DC so they could draw customers from all three jurisdictions. AMC rivertowne has been remodeled and looks nice but hey don't have stadium seating though nor or the dinner/bar concept.

It will be interesting to see the concept and where they put it. As for upkeep, I think it would be okay. The bottom line is that National Harbor is a focal point in the county and the state being gateways for both. They will not let that go downhill for that reason alone. Last thing the county/state needs is bad press around its premium locations.

I think with the proper planning and leadership we can definitely regain the prominence of the past. Like you said it would take re-branding and introducing elements that you find in Potomac/Bethesda and even Chevy Chase that would appeal to potential home buyers at those income levels. Becoming a municipality would be a great start.
No problem! I agree with all of your suggestions. Being that Ft. Washington is a historical area, it makes perfect sense to have some type of museum for visitors. My dream is also to have some type of festival (preferably music or arts) at Ft. Washington park in the summertime. Something like Coachella or SXSW that is appropriate for all ages.

That's great to hear that they are taking security at NH seriously. I figured they would being that this is a multi million dollar investment.

Chevy Chase is a dream. I love the look of the business district when you ride down Wisconsin Avenue. It's so pristine. I'm hoping that they will aim for something similar with NH. If the right crowds are drawn and the crime issues are cleaned up, I'm sure that we could get something comparable eventually. If DC keeps growing, it is inevitable that some of that population will eventually spill over. They are already making plans for Anacostia. The hilly parts of Oxon Hill has some great views of downtown at night so I could see them redeveloping that area in about twenty years as well as the demand for affordable real estate increases. Forest Heights used to be pretty prosperous from what I heard so there is the possibility of them gentrifying that area in time as well. It would be nice if we could follow Hyattsville and develop an arts district in South County as well.
