I am relocating to Laurel, MD and I was wondering if anyone knew about the average cost of childcare per month for a toddler. Also, is there a train that i am able to take from Laurel, MD to southern PGC ( I will be working there)? Thanks!

I live in Laurel and childcare (daycare) costs between about $150-300 a week depending on where you go and such. Most of the licensed small home like daycares are about 200-250/week and the larger chains like kindercare or petit academy are like 300/week.

Also, the train in Laurel is the MARC commuter train that runs between union station in dc and camden yards in baltimore. I have never done it but, to get to southern PGC (I am not exactly sure where you mean) you may be able to take the marc to union station, tranfer to the metro and take metro to areas like hyattsville. Check it out online. If you are talking about even further away from the beltway then you have to take a bus from the metro to your destination. Either way I would bet that it would take much longer to use public transportation than to just drive it yourself. Especially if you can use route2 or route 3 or 301 to get where you need to and avoid 95 and the dc beltway.
