Hi there, wondering how the housing market is going in Bel Air, Md & Joppa, MD? I am relocating and already have a real estate agent but I am hard pressed to believe what I hear from my agent. I am a real estate agent in Westchester county, NY and I know things are selling below list (not huge amounts below list, but still below list). Anyone have any stats for me? Are people making offers 5-10% below list or even more than that?

My husband and I just bought a home in Bel Air, MD this May. We got it well below list price. $15,000 less actually. Homes in the same area have been sitting on the market because they are over priced. There are too many homes for sale so I assume people have to start marking them down. I don't know much about real estate, but I've noticed houses staying on the market for months. If it isn't in tip top shape (since all the new homes in the area) you'll have difficulty selling it. I hope I was of some help.

i am also a Realtor for 36 years now and have never seen a market like this. I remember when the interest rates for mortgages were up to 21% and the market then was better than now..in september sales picked up a little and a little more in october, but not much.. sadly my listings are showing somewhat but buyers are definitely taking their time because of it being a tough sellers market.. i have some really good pointers for you to give it an edge over others in the area and if you have a large monthly payment consider lowing price to absolute rock bottom price and let it go..Or else your monthly mortgage payments, utilities, insurances and upkeep will soak up your profits quick..
