My wife and I are in need of temporary housing ASAP. I am an active duty service member leaving for another duty station in May 2016. We are unable to renew the lease at out current residence for the remainder of our stay and must leave by the start of the new year. We have no children or pets. We only have one vehicle so we are limited to the Bethesda area due to my wife's job. Our situation was unforeseen and would greatly appreciate a helping hand. We realize our request is extremely difficult to fulfill but if there is someone that can help then I assure them they will have my gratitude.
My email is: dtdavis86@gmail.com

Thanks

Doesn't the military have temporary housing? How long would you and your wife need to stay in Bethesda? If it is only a month or two, the best prospect is a short stay hotel. If you can't afford that, could could you stay with friends or colleagues?

If it is three to six month, then look on Craigslist, or write your own ad. There may be students sub-letting.

Have you called TLF? Also, you know you CAN go ahead and rent out an apartment and start a one year lease? The SCRA protects you and allows you to break a lease early as long as there is a military clause in the lease (standard in Montgomery County leases) and you have PCS orders that will take you more than 50 miles from your duty station. Go to military.com and search for the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act for details.
