That didn't take long.......and on NBC too.....Ouch!

TRONE'S MONEY: David Trone is jumping into the race for the Democratic nomination for the Eighth Congressional District. He calls himself a "strong Democrat" but will have to explain quickly his major heavy donations to Republican candidates, writes David Lublin for Seventh State blog.
  • David Trone, the wealthy businessman and late entrant into the race for Maryland's 8th Congressional District, is going up early with a broadcast television ad in the Washington market. He has purchased $108,000 in airtime on Washington's WRC TV, including a slot on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, writes John Fritze in the Sun.

  • Bill Turque of the Post writes that in the spot called "Bet the Farm," Trone, a Democrat, says: "The hog building, the barn, the egg processing plant, we got some hard lessons, we lost the farm, but I gained something too. A compassion and respect for people who work hard for their families. Even when it doesn't work, especially when it doesn't work out." The ad tops the story.
MATTHEWS PULLS IN THE LOOT: Kathleen Matthews, the former television news anchor and Marriott executive running in the 8th Congressional District, will report raising just over $500,000 in the fourth quarter of 2015, another significant haul for the first time candidate, John Fritze reports in the Sun.
8th DISTRICT FORUM: Two Republicans joined seven Democratic candidates in Maryland's 8th Congressional District at a campaign forum Wednesday night, using the moment to argue that with the House likely to remain under GOP control next year, they would be the better choice for voters, reports Bill Turque in the Post.

TRONE DISSED ON OBAMA REFERENCE: Democratic congressional candidate Kathleen Matthews called Tuesday on a competitor to pull down a web advertisement that features President Barack Obama, arguing that the video is "intentionally misleading," John Fritze of the Sun reports.
Josh Kurtz has a good piece on the race.
