Back in 2011, PlanItMetro, the planning blog for WMATA, came up with ideas on expansion, and put them into the 2040 Regional Transit System Plan (RTSP). Here is the original PDF file of what they had devised: http://planitmetro.com/wp-content/up...07_Meeting.pdf

Back in February, the analyses done on the proposals, was categorized into three PDF files:

* New Metrorail lines in the core, eight-car trains, and interline connections: http://planitmetro.com/wp-content/up...-22-Part-1.pdf

* Metrorail pedestrian tunnels, extensions, and infill stations: http://planitmetro.com/wp-content/up...-22-Part-2.pdf

* All of the other transit modes' strategies, transit plans, and transit projects: http://planitmetro.com/wp-content/up...-22-Part-3.pdf

The blog post about it, is here: PlanItMetro » Regional Transit Opportunities Explored

Now I pose three questions:

Assuming that you have looked at the three PDF files, which one of the ideas would you have liked to have seen?

Do you think any of them could happen in the future?

Looking at the Key Findings sections on all three PDF files, how do they determine recommended minimums for riders?

###

Other than that, all of this, in my opinion, is interesting information to know about. I've always found transit proposals to be very fascinating!
