Which of these two foods do you think better represents and better defines the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C?

I don't really think the DC suburbs (Montgomery, Prince George's, Howard) are associated with crabs. You get to Calvert, Charles and Anne Arundel then yes.

I'm assuming you mean blue crabs and not the personal kind. If the second my response would be different.

I voted Mumbo sauce because I have never seen or heard of it outside of this forum. For that reason, I think it is a more unique "representative" of your region since blue crabs are well known throughout the state.

Maryland is known for Crabs, not "hot sauce".We are talking about food here and from Baltimore to St Mary's every true Marylander knows about Maryland's Blue Crabs.

I would say crabs. I haven't heard of mumbo sauce until I saw this thread.

Mumbo sauce is more of DC thing. Maryland suburbs are just as well known for crabs as any other part of Maryland. Ruff-n-Ready crabs is a PG County staple for good crabs. I heard that it even attracted a few national entertainers.

I'll add Charles and just say that it depends on what species of crabs you're talking about.

I can agree with this.

But, I guess they'll try to claim Old Bay seasoning next.
