Because you have to pay a lot in order to have people tell you what color you're allowed to paint your houses what flowers you're allowed to plant, and what you're allowed to keep in your own backyard.

I've seen $155/month and $195/month, based on these house listings:

There are a ton of walking trails and park amenities in the neighborhood, not to mention the extensive landscaping that is well-maintained. And extra security patrols, HD cameras at the entrances. It is high but at least you there seems to be value there.

Yep. This, plus a pool that must be maintained.

realtor.com...........

For a typical single-family home, HOA fees can cost homeowners around $200 to$300 per month, although they will be lower or much higher depending on the size of your unit and the amenities.Dec 1, 2016.

I'm not suggesting realtor.com doesn't have a vested interest......
