No .Regardless of what you want it can not happen . The Owner of the Redskins has as much said so .While many people like to throw other people's money away most(not all) of the Redskins owners wealth is tied up in Fed Ex Field and once that stadium is no longer in use the property value will plummet, fact not fiction .If the Redskins default on their deal with the State of Maryland over the Redskins breaking that lease / deal which has at least another 7 years on it ,they owe the State for all the improvements and infrastructure that the State put in to bring them to Maryland. Adding close to an additional 200 million to any Stadium deal ,yes Dan Snyder is a Billionaire but he is only the majority owner of the Redskins there other owners involved and a New Stadium will have to be finance at easly 2 billion dollars an additional 200 million could kill the deal . The Skins have said numerous times that they would love to build in Virginia or DC,again and again!

Nah, i actually think the national harbor site is the favorite right now. The owners and the fans want it in DC though. However, I think the State of Maryland is much farther along in acquiring their land than the District is. Do you know how hard it will be to get permission at the RFK site? Much more difficult than a land swap inn Maryland. I actually think that Oxon Hill location is better anyway, except for no metro. But it is literally 10 seconds from DC and 30 seconds from Virginia. A nice stadium would look tight coming across the Woodrow Wilson bridge. If you read all of the articles, it looks like Virginia bowing out since they got Amazon. The DC site is great too and has metro, but there has to be some serious political maneuvering in a short period of time to get it done.

If it's built at the Oxon Cove Park, a high end apartment building or 2 with ground floor retail and a few townhomes would be a great addition. Along with a bike/walking trail connecting to Nation Harbor, an amphitheater for concerts, a multi-use park, and the stadium's roof should be able to both open and close.

As for DC...wasn't there also an issue with the team's name from DOI's perspective. I recall hearing that DOI wouldn't green light a DC stadium if they kept the name.

Courts ruled in favor of the team on the name.

What happens to FedEx Field after the Redskins move to a new stadium, which, I assume, will be built in either DC or Loudon County?

That is the Conundrum once the Skins are no longer there the value will drop (big time) ,the Ravens,Maryland or Navy don't want it and the up keep is too expensive for the County to take over add in the fact that the Redskins are just not very good and haven't been for a while creates a problem. Had the new FBI campus gone where it was suppose to then it might not have been as big a hit but with trump cancelling that it has blown up the whole area.
