Move the Redskins to London. I doubt the Canadians would want to look at that prick Snyder.

There was housing there long before the FBI started making noise about moving anywhere. Indeed housing- complete with people living in it- comes right up the FedEx Field parking lot. As the DMV is perpetually growing, any developer would love to get his or her talons on that chunk of land.

I dislike Trump, but please leave him out of this nonsense. A large parcel of land around 10 miles from the DC line does not need the FBI to be viable.

In that neighborhood it needs something.

I am 50/50 on the stadium. As a stadium for the sake of a stadium, I don't see the real value but as a stadium which also serves as an events venue (concerts, high school/collegiate activities, community activities) could have greater opportunities for the surrounding community and area as a whole. With 500+ acres your could have a bunch of amenities while maintaining large parcels of green space. I could see whatever entertainment, restaurant, and shopping districts being tagged as a National Harbor and Tanger East concept. Which would align with the what's being build in downtown Oxon Hill and the concept for the revamped Rivertowne Town Center. Also creating some type of monorail or light rail between it, downtown Oxon Hill, NH, and NH to Eisenhower or Huntington would create greater accessibility to nearby job centers in NOVA (specifically Alexandria and Arlington). Be it Oxon Hill Farm or alternate plan involving downtown Oxon hill, Rosecroft, and Eastover, Some type of unified plan needs to be executed to improve area amenities and increase interest in the area a place to live work and play. Will it happen? Not sure but IMO its a high possibility. The historical significance and size of the state park identified for the swap would be a sweet deal for NPS and the state could still preserve 100 acres of Oxon Hill Farm for educational activities while still having a sizable adjacent mixed used development.

I agree, The stadium planing team need to give a significant consideration in connection Estover , Rivertowne, Rosecroft and NH area with some type of rail system to NOVA, it is highly needed to improve the area.

Just building a "world class stadium" will not do any good, I think they should be saying "World class neighborhood", it can be achieved if planed well, the area is one of a kind, it would be a waste if we build just stadium and some restaurants.

????????

Houses. They can build more houses.

FedEx Field is mostly surrounded by housing stock. More housing would fit right in.

Or, maybe University of Maryland would like the land. They are not too far away.

Or, a new hospital.

Or, once the current administration is gone, the FBI can locate there.

A use for the land after the Skins move is NOT a problem.

Governor Larry Hogan pulls out of negotiations with Redskins regarding new stadium.
Maryland Gov. Hogan pulls out of new stadium talks with Redskins, per report originally appeared on nbcsportswashington.com
The Redskins efforts toward securing a new stadium took a hit Tuesday night when Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said that he would stop working towards that goal.
There were discussions of a land swap between Maryland officials and the federal government that would free up a parcel of land adjacent to the MGM National Harbor casino, and Hogan was working on potentially putting a new Redskins stadium there.

But according to The Washington Post, Hogan has pulled out of that plan. From the Post:

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) has informed the Washington Redskins that he is withdrawing from efforts to persuade the team to build its next stadium in Oxon Cove Park, adjacent to MGM National Harbor, "at this time," his spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday night.
Given their choice, the Redskins would elect to return to RFK Stadium in a new or rebuilt football palace. That had some momentum from the D.C. Mayor last fall, but political changes in and around the federal government could stall any movement. RFK sits on federal land, so first the city government must wrangle control of the land, which could face a number of roadblocks, and then deal with the D.C. government.

^ Good.

RFK Stadium site is where they belong, but I'm just glad MD is not going to hand the Redskins hundreds of millions of dollars for a stadium. I would much rather spend that money on roads, schools, transit, parks etc.

The land got the attention it needs. If not redskin, I think something better will be developed on the land.
